your questions to gis@giscountry.com
1.
When are you going to release another CD?
My
second CD came out in July 2003, it's been a while and it's time to get my butt in gear. My third album is coming out by early winter or late fall of 2005. It depends on a few factors..
Check back often to find out about more updates on the
new release
2.
How long does it usually take you to write a song?
It
can take 5 minutes or 5 years. It took me 10 minutes to write the music to "3
little Words" (Song #1 on "Bring Me You") and I took a couple
of days working on the words. The song "Bring Me You" was 5 years in
the making. I put the idea down on tape years ago, and at the suggestion of my
friend Terry Fallon, I dug it up and finished it for the record. I sure don't
regret it.
3.
I remember you told me you had a dog before, what was its name?
She's
a Doberman, and her name is "Hvisla" It means, "Whisper"
In Icelandic.
4.
Do you have a favorite song from your CDs?
Yes,
it's "Bring Me You" from the first CD and "Until Then" from the 2nd CD.
5.
Have you guys started to cover "Sweet Home Alabama" yet?
Oh
boy, here we go again... Yes we DO (this is an update cuz I said that we'd NEVER to that lol. This song is one of the
staples of Southern Rock. Every (American) musician has played this song to the
point of wanting to kill somebody if they ever heard or played it again! So make
sure you catch me on a good night :-)
6.
Do you miss Iceland?
Yes
I do. I miss my family and friends. But I have so many friends and surrogate
family members here in the US that I feel like I'm where I need to be.
7.
Do you like ice cream?
I
love ice cream, like everything else that's bad for me :-)
8.
Does somebody else read your email?
Yes,
the Pope, my manager, my booking agent, my laywer, and if it's from a girl, my
mom will have to see it first. But, if you write to gis@giscountry.com
I will get it directly. How's that?
9.
What year were you born?
I
was born in a leap year, and I'm frequently told that act like a 6 year old.
"I'm old enough to know better, but still too young to care. Hows that for an LA answer!"
10.
Do you have a girlfriend?
Yes,
and chances are you've met her. We write songs together, and I run my fingers
through her strings every night.

12.
Do you speak Icelandic?
Yes
I do
13.
Are you coming back to Iceland? I saw you last summer at the country fest.
I'm
not sure if you mean to go back and "live"
in Iceland, or go back on another tour. I'm not planning
to move to Iceland. I'm having way too much fun in LA!
(I hope my parents don't see this.) But I will be going
back to Iceland in summer 2003, for another tour at
the end of July. I hope to see you then! Updated: I
toured to Iceland in 04 also and that was lotsa fun.
I went there also in summer of 05 to visit my family
but I only played at a festival in my home town. The
rest of the time I took it easy!
